Online Video Content Marketing Made Easy.

Updated: Feb 17, 2021

We are delighted to announce the release of our first collaboration with mega department-store John Lewis.

Released yesterday, this new video showcases a number of pieces from the new Modern Rarity collection from the luxury range that John Lewis introduced last year. Smartzer have added our interactive feature to the elegant video. This means that customers are able to just click on a look they might want to add to their wardrobe, using our hover effect customised for John Lewi and can immediately see details and easily shop the pieces.

This innovative addition to John Lewis’ interactive video content will allow the store to make the most of their video and provide an exciting new shopping experience for their customers. What better time to begin to bridge the gap between retail and technology than the inception of their much-anticipated, sophisticated new Modern Rarity collection? John Lewis is not only anticipating their customers’ desires by designing new fashion ranges but also by using Smartzer’s technology to facilitate a streamlined and contemporary shopping experience.

The Modern Rarity range is aimed at the discerning customer who wants to invest in classic pieces that are truly timeless and will transcend seasons, at an affordable price. Inspired by the John Lewis archive in Berkshire with a modern twist, the new collection features some absolutely gorgeous pieces, crafted from quality materials in pared-back, earthy tones.

We are so pleased to have been able to work on this wonderful video, which you can watch and interact with here. We’d love to hear any feedback, which you can either leave on this page or reach us on twitter @smartzer.

We are over the moon to announce that Smartzer has been selected as the winner of the Lafayette Plug & Play competition 2016!

As you can read in our previous post, we took part in the December ’16 Lafayette Plug & Play incubator programme in Paris, designed to boost the next generation of retail and fashion companies. The Smartzer team spent part of November and December in Paris alongside 9 other startups, making the most of the mentoring and networking opportunities available via the programme.

We met some interesting and inspirational mentors, investors, fellow entrepreneurs from a range of companies spanning retail, technology and fashion. We are extremely grateful to both the Galeries Lafayette group and the Plug & Play Tech Center for the opportunity to network with such knowledgeable and innovative individuals.

Of course, the cherry on top was being selected as the winning startup in the December ’16 Batch! To have been selected from a group containing such talented and forward-thinking other startups on the basis of our performance during the programme really is an honour. We are so pleased that our interactive video technology has been acknowledged by these world-class experts as having the potential to revolutionise the fashion and retail industry.

Especially exciting was the work that we did for Galeries Lafayette during the programme, adding our interactive functionality to three of their promotional videos and kicking off our presence in Paris! We are able to aid brands in engaging customers and making the most of their online video content to drive sales in the face of ever-increasing interactions between retail and technology. To do so with this market-dominator was a great experience for Smartzer.

Thank you again to Galeries Lafayette and Plug & Play Tech Center for selecting us as their 2016 winner!

Shopping channel QVC launched an innovative shoppable video experience on their e-commerce website where viewers could click on products and order them directly from within the video.

We are pleased to announce our newest collaboration with retail giants QVC (UK). QVC is ahead of the curve when it comes to modernising TV shopping channels and the way consumers experience them. QVC used Smartzer's interactive video platform to enhance their ‘Weekend Style’ video, and to try and engage their audience through new technology. The platform was used to tag videos to create a video ecommerce experience. All of the products are live on the website and available to shop directly from the pop-up. Viewers can even shop the entire look if they wish, as we have included all of the products in the look within the customised QVC pop-up. This video content marketing tech makes it even easier for their customers to get the products, or possibly even the entire outfit through a single click. We are so pleased with how this has turned out, and we believe it looks exceptional placed on the Fashion section of their website. We hope the QVC customers love it too, and take this opportunity to make their shopping experience quicker and easier. You can check out the video for yourself below.
