We were excited to attend Cannes Lions, having been selected as one of the companies taking part in the Cannes Innovation program.
Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity celebrates creativity across a number of sectors, bringing together innovative and talented people in a variety of events and awards. The Festival revolves around the commercial, social and cultural impact that creativity can have. There was so much to see and do, and we made the most of the networking opportunities available!

We were delighted to be one of only three startups working with Vizeum, the internationally renowned communications network on their Dentsu Aegis Dragons’ Den style event ‘Spark’. The event was set at their beautiful beach house terrace location and presented by the lovely Lucy Hockings. For this program, we gave a short talk based around the brief “empowering society through digital”, with a focus on capacity for creative thinking.

This was a brilliant opportunity to present Smartzer to a panel of successful and expert judges, consisting of David Shing (AOL), Gabrielle McGee (Tory Burch Foundation), Thomas Le Thierry (Vizeum) and Maggie Dehler (Fox). We were able to draw on a number of Smartzer features, such as the applicability of our unique player to any video content. This means that there is scope for future use in education and charity videos, where we can draw from the experiences and networks that we’ve built up in the retail sector. Additionally, we believe that through sharing our vision for digital creativity and innovation we can show the importance of video content and the power that it can hold in a variety of contexts when utilised effectively.

There was a fantastic atmosphere at the event, and it was brilliant to speak to the judges afterwards, as well as chat to the other startups taking part – SUPA and Cluep.
Thank you to Cannes Lions for having us, and thank you to Vizeum and Dentsu Aegis for having Smartzer take part in Spark in such a lovely location!

We were lucky enough to be invited to hold a stand at LVMH Explore Day today!
LVMH is a world-renowned French luxury goods conglomerate, rooted in the merger of Louis Vuitton with Moët Hennessy in the 1980s. Since then, the management of a number of prestigious brands including Marc Jacobs, Belvedere, Bulgari and Acqua di Parma has fallen under the extremely successful LVMH.

The LVMH Explore Day was run for the Perfumes and Cosmetics brands held by the conglomerate, with the aim of discussing innovation in the beauty space. There were a number of talks given based around this theme but we were kept busy as Smarzter had its own stand alongside 9 other startups.

We were able to use our stand to demonstrate our innovative technology and explain our vision to interested attendees. We placed an emphasis on the scope our interactive video platform has to have an impact within the beauty sphere. Specifically, we explained how we can benefit brands within this space to monetise their existing video content and engage their customers with shoppable videos. It was really great to network with like-minded people.
Another key aspect of the day was the run-up to the newly launched LVMH Innovation Award. We were delighted to be one of only 32 startups shortlisted by an expert jury as finalists. We will be pitching Smartzer later this week, explaining our vision of innovation to both industry professionals and the public. It should be an engaging, forward thinking and above all innovative day! Stay tuned for an update on the process!

Thank you to LVMH for such an interesting and worthwhile day!

We are so excited to share with you our brand new shoppable video for Amanda Holden’s QVC BundleBerry collection!
The multi-talented Amanda was recently announced as the new QVC Ambassador and has just launched her beautiful homeware range, BundleBerry. We were delighted to be asked to work with QVC to add our interactive overlay to their promotional video showcasing some of the BundleBerry pieces – ranging from colourful mugs and plant pots to stylish yet comfortable seating.

Not only was the interaction video featured on the QVC homepage, but Amanda shared the player on Twitter to her 1.96 million followers! It’s great to think that now even more people know about the work that Smartzer does.

It was an absolute delight to work with QVC on this player, helping to raise the profile of Amanda’s collection and engage customers to drive sales.
Check out the video here! We always love to hear your feedback and can be reached on this page or via twitter @smartzer!
